Without sports in school, each day would be very much drearier. Sports offer children an opportunity to blow off steam, to run and to enjoy the fresh air outside.

Classrooms are a good environment for learning but the balance must be achieved and after sitting still and studying for an hour or two, a run around a sports field is very welcome for most children.
Sports lessons offer children a chance to make more friends through the excitement of belonging to a team.
Team sports also offer a great way for children to grow in confidence, the camaraderie that comes from taking part in sports in this way is hard to beat.
There’s also the fun of away games and trips to other schools which enrich the experiences of children in many ways.
Not all children are natural fans of sports but a good school, like this private school in the UK will always help those children to find the sport that they can excel in.
Practice makes perfect and regular lessons in swimming, football, netball, cricket, rugby and tennis can mean that a child who was previously nervous or clumsy can actually end up excelling.
All children should be encouraged to find a sport they enjoy because playing sport actually improves academic performance. Research shows that children who participate in sports more often also achieve better grades in school.
The fun and thrill of winning a team game or of excelling on the athletics field can never be overestimated. It’s those times that children often remember with fondness as they grow older and look back on their school days.
